Enter your body weight and we will give you the recommended blanket weight, using the 10% rule (safe range 7–12%) that serious makers like CURA and Weighted Idea publish themselves.
Sensible range:
Nearest size actually sold:
Tip: weighted blankets work best solo. Couples do better with two individual blankets than one big shared one.
An indicative tool, not medical advice. If you have sleep apnea, breathing, circulation or mobility problems, ask your doctor before using a weighted blanket.
Almost every serious maker agrees: a weighted blanket should be about 10% of the body weight of the person under it. Below 7%, most people barely feel the effect; above 12% it can feel oppressive — and that is where returns come from. So the calculator gives you a target (10%) and a range (7–12%), then rounds to a size that is actually sold: 7, 12, 15, 17, 20 or 25 lb, or 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13 kg depending on the brand.
Two things worth knowing: if you are between sizes and it is your first blanket, go lighter — it is easier to adapt to, and you can always size up later; and for sofa use rather than sleep, 20–30% lighter is more comfortable for short spells.
